My wife and I started visiting the Minnesota state parks within an hour or so of home last year. Most we have visited so far are to the South of Minneapolis/St. Paul where we live (less traffic from other city dwellers going North to their cabins over the weekend).

The last we visited was Lake Maria State Park to the Northwest, near Monticello.
